We accept a limited number of weddings each year, allowing us to give our couples the highest level of attention and care. Compris weddings are deeply personal, thoughtfully designed, and impeccably executed. We work closely with our clients to translate their vision into an experience that feels meaningful, welcoming, and unforgettable, for them and every guest in attendance.

Social Events

Compris is the French translation of understood—and that philosophy guides everything we do.

We understand the unique standards and expectations of our clients. Luxury, to us, is not stiff or overdone; it is the art of exceeding already high expectations with warmth, precision, and care. Our events are hospitality-driven at their core, ensuring every guest feels welcomed, considered, and genuinely looked after.

An event is a ballet—a well-oiled machine made up of thousands of intricate pieces. Compris specializes in bringing those pieces together seamlessly, all while protecting and elevating our client’s vision. Our approach is scalable and global, with experience planning events from five to 15,000 guests, across Michigan and around the world.

Discretion is a non-negotiable standard for us. We are deeply familiar with NDAs, private security, and the importance of privacy. While we don’t make a habit of naming names, our past and present clients range from global corporations and private family offices to public figures, artists, and next-door neighbors. Regardless of scale or profile, our priority remains the same: if the guest feels cared for, our client becomes the ultimate host.

Sarah Humpula, Founder.

Sarah brings an innate attention to detail and a genuine love of hospitality to every event she leads. Her career began in luxury hospitality, working in Michelin-starred and James Beard Award–winning restaurants in Chicago, where she learned how one intentional moment can transform an experience.

Sarah quickly recognized how to take the art of creating an unforgettable experience for a single diner and elevate it into events of any scale. She is known for ensuring that everyone involved—clients, guests, speakers, sponsors, and vendors—feels welcomed, valued, and cared for, with no detail and no person overlooked.

When she’s not producing events, Sarah can be found chasing her two little ones along the beaches of Northern Michigan, rain or shine (usually with plans for a glass of Burgundy once bedtime finally arrives).
